Job Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide evaluation and treatment services to pediatric patients, addressing speech, language, feeding, and swallowing needs. The SLP will develop individualized plans of care, collaborate with patients, families, caregivers, and the pediatric PT/OT team, and provide education to support continued progress outside of therapy.

 

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, feeding, and swallowing impairments .
• Collect and integrate patient, family, caregiver, teacher, and other professional information.
• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments using appropriate evaluation procedures.
• Administer standardized testing and assess functional performance against age-related norms.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care with measurable goals .
• Select appropriate treatment materials and intervention strategies.
• Perform feeding and swallowing assessments and interventions .
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and therapeutic activities.
• Collaborate with pediatric PT and OT on treatment interventions.
• Maintain accurate daily clinical documentation and complete charging in the therapy EMR.
• Provide professional guidance and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students.
• Participate in clinical ladder requirements, including student supervision, approved projects, and in-service training.
• Provide age-appropriate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
• Active Illinois SLP License (IDFPR) .
• BLS – American Heart Association .
• Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology experience.
• Experience with speech/language assessment and treatment .
• Experience with feeding and swallowing evaluation/intervention .
• Strong documentation, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
