Research Specialist / Sr Scientist, Assay Sciences, Discovery Pharmacology

Altos Labs is seeking a Research Specialist (or Senior Scientist) in Assay Sciences, Discovery Pharmacology, to support drug discovery through development, execution, and automation of cell‑based and biochemical assays. Responsibilities Develop and execute cell‑based, biochemical, and complex in‑vitro assays. Automate manual assays, transition from bench to high‑throughput screening. Validate assay performance (e.g., Z′-factor) and ensure scalability. Create assays de novo for new projects. Document procedures and data in the ELN for integrity. Collaborate with Discovery Sciences, Computational & Product Development teams. Lead the assay sciences team on technical matters. Manage external CROs and oversee their data quality. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 8+ years of industry experience (for Research Specialist), or PhD and 6+ years post‑PhD plus 3+ industry years (for Senior Scientist). Extensive experience with MSD, HTRF, AlphaLISA, and other assay technologies. Proficiency with lab automation systems such as Bravo, Echo, I.DOT, Digital Dispenser. Experience with high‑content imaging in 96‑ and 384‑well formats. Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to manage external CROs and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams. Demonstrated leadership and expert knowledge in a specialized research area.
