Caregiver - PCA

The Job Description outlines your primary responsibilities as a caregiver. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review any special needs this client may have. Objective: To provide professional care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and household and family support services. Reports To: Hiring Manager Examples of Benefits: $19/hour Flexible Schedule Professional Development Paid Training and Development Opportunities for Advancement LifeMart Work close to home Primary Responsibilities: Companionship and conversation Light housekeeping Household management Walking assistance Eating assistance Errands Transportation Assist client to and from bed Other Requirements: Meal planning and preparation Laundry and linen changing Bathing assistance Dressing assistance Toileting Medication reminders Monitor Alzheimer’s & Dementia client Assist client throughout the night Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily Report any significant client changes to the office immediately. Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook and Training Manual. Qualifications CHHA license required Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect. Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level. Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment test. Ability to drive to get to work and have a vehicle available during assignments. Valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations, a valid driver’s license and car insurance Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations. Demonstrate tact, patience and good hygiene Must have flexibility with schedule and be able to work various shifts and days Pass a criminal background check with Senior Helpers.
