Java Technical Lead - TIAA

Tech LeadPosition Summary:Technical and Architect Lead with 10+ years of overall experience and 2-3+ years of experience in leading technology PODs, will work in close Developers, QA Engineers and BAs to develop the application modules.Responsibilities:End-to-end technical ownershipLead a team of technical resources and collaborate with technical leads and developers from other teams.Understand business needs and design appropriate technical solutions to meet those needs.Provide planning, estimation, scheduling, prioritization and coordination of technical activities related to system development.Ensure system alignment to Enterprise Architecture policies and best practices; ensure that process methodologies are followed in system development.Accountable to business and technology management for end to end application scoping, planning, development and delivery that meets and exceeds quality standards.Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities.Mentor development staff in effective solutioning for tough technical challenges.Required Skills:End-to-end technical ownership, coordinating with different technical rolesFluent in Advice tech stackFluent in enterprise architectureStrong understanding of software architecture concepts in building a variety of applications, including web sites, web services, and batch processing systems.Champion of Agile software development methodologies.Champion of unit testing, test driven development and other forms of automated testing.Strong understanding of advanced software development concepts such object-oriented design and development, multi-threading, thread safety, exception handling and logging, asyncronous operations, etc.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Passionate about technology and solving problems with technology.TechnologiesJava, EJB, Servlets, JDBC, J2EE.Spring Framework (SpringMVC, Spring Security, Spring Boot and Spring Batch, etc..).REST and SOAP service development (Jersey).Oracle, PL/SQL, other database technologies.JSON, XML, XSL, XSLT, XSD, JAXB.HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, other JavaScript libraries.Distributed source control systems such as Git.Gradle or similar build automation tools.jUnit and mocking frameworks.Enterprise Development with Automated Builds, Deployment, Testing.Experience & QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of software development experience.5+ years doing Agile SCRUM delivery and with preference to SAFe methodologiesMinimum of 3 years in architect, tech lead, or development manager roles leading teams of at least 5 people.Experience giving product demonstrations to business partners as part of agile reviews.Experience and comfort level presenting technical designs and product roadmaps to IT and business stakeholders.Experience designing, developing, and maintaining large scale distributed systems.Experience implementing architectures optimized for scalability and performance, particularly utilizing data partitioning, caching, and grid computing optimized for batch processing.Experience advising developers on technical direction, design patterns, and reuse opportunities.Posting Date:
