Senior Product Designer

Senior Product Designer at H&R Block in Missouri (onsite) , helping shape Spruce, a native mobile banking experience. This role focuses on building trustworthy, accessible, high-quality iOS and Android customer journeys, from early problem framing through production-ready design and release support. In this position, you will lead end-to-end design for complex Spruce features and work closely with Product, Engineering, Content, Legal, and Compliance. You will also help drive design quality across teams through critique, coaching, standards, and continuous improvement, while leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate exploration, prototyping, documentation, and delivery. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end product design for complex Spruce mobile banking features and customer journeys Translate customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, data, and regulatory requirements into clear product opportunities and intuitive experiences Frame problems, map journeys and flows, explore concepts, prototype, validate, and deliver production-ready designs Plan, conduct, and synthesize customer research and usability testing, turning insights into product and design decisions Define the future of Spruce’s native iOS and Android experience, ensuring every interaction is intuitive, trustworthy, accessible, and aligned with platform best practices Establish scalable patterns, frameworks, and interaction standards to improve consistency across the Spruce ecosystem Use AI-enabled tools, including Figma Make , Figma MCP , and emerging technologies, to accelerate exploration, prototyping, documentation, and delivery Partner across discovery, planning, implementation, testing, and release with Product, Engineering, and Content Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements while protecting usability and customer understanding Review implemented experiences for design quality, accessibility, platform consistency, and alignment with approved designs Support release readiness by identifying experience risks, validating critical journeys, and participating in issue triage Communicate design strategy, rationale, dependencies, and risks to cross-functional partners and leadership Facilitate workshops and critiques that move teams from ambiguity to aligned action Champion design quality across product teams through critique, coaching, standards, and continuous improvement Requirements 6+ years of product-design experience, ideally designing complex mobile products or services A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking, strong interaction and visual design, and meaningful customer or business outcomes Experience designing native iOS and Android experiences Advanced proficiency in Figma , including components, libraries, prototyping, documentation, and developer-ready design Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted tools and workflows to accelerate exploration, prototyping, documentation, research synthesis, and design-to-development collaboration Experience simplifying complex workflows and designing high-trust or high-stakes customer experiences Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive-design practices Experience planning or partnering on customer research and usability testing Ability to use qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform, validate, and communicate design decisions Comfort navigating ambiguity, balancing competing constraints, and independently moving complex work forward Strong cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Content, Analytics, Legal, Compliance, and business partners Strong facilitation, storytelling, presentation, and design-rationale skills Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on the broader customer journey and product strategy Financial services, fintech, identity, security, or another regulated environment experience is preferred Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience Compensation and Tech Salary: USD 89,800 - 134,700 per year Location: Missouri (onsite) Technologies: Figma, Figma Make, Figma MCP, iOS, Android Benefits Competitive pay Comprehensive benefits Support for life both in and outside of work Eligible to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans (additional earnings per plan terms) Medical and prescription drug coverage (qualifying associates and/or eligible dependents) H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan) Employee Assistance Program (Virtual) fitness center programs Associate discount program Automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance Associate Tax Prep benefit #J-18808-Ljbffr
