Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bilingual Therapies is seeking a compassionate and skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI/SPI) for a school-based contract position in Houston, TX. We believe every student deserves access to communication and learning. Our mission is to bring dedicated professionals into roles where they can make a genuine and lasting impact.
Interested applicants must hold at least one of the four national SLI certifications.

Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and consistent sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school settings
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Support student participation in academic and social activities
- Adapt interpreting style to meet individual student communication needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at all times
- Collaborate with educational teams to support student success
Qualifications
- Must hold at least one of the four nationally recognized SLI certifications (Required)
- Experience in school-based or educational settings preferred
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication access needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
