Summer Shop Helper

Job Overview The Summer Helper provides general support to production operations by assisting multiple departments, including Fabrication, Assembly, and Paint/Blast. This position performs a variety of basic labor tasks to support workflow, maintain organization, and ensure the shop operates efficiently during peak production periods. It is a temporary position intended to provide additional support during the summer months. Essential Functions Assist employees across departments with general labor tasks as directed. Move materials, parts, and equipment throughout the facility. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment. Assist with basic production tasks such as prepping and staging materials under supervision. Support loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing materials. Help prepare jobs for production by staging parts and materials. Perform routine shop cleanup, including sweeping, trash removal, and organizing workspaces. Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in all designated areas. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs. Perform nonproduction painting tasks throughout the facility using brush or roller, including marking warning lines, designating safety zones, and indicating locations of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment. Safety-Sensitive Designation OGI has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for the purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019. Qualifications Applicants must be at least 18 years of age due to the safety-sensitive nature of the work environment and equipment operated in this facility. No additional qualifications or credentials required. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment Non‑temperature‑controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are typically associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment, including noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA‑compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility. Physical Demands Regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/ descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
