$66,265 + approved work experience Exempt 187 Days $1,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time Employees, $500 Sign-On Bonus for Part-Time Employees To receive the sign-on incentive, 30 days of work must be completed. The incentive payout will occur with the regular paycheck in the month following the month in which the 30-day milestone is achieved (i.e. if the 30th day of work falls in the month of October, the incentive would be paid in the November paycheck). LISD employees who have separated from the district and then return are not eligible for additional sign-on incentive If hired, the State Board for Educator Certification will require all first time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check. Primary Purpose

To assess pre-school students and provide therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with their students' ability to derive full benefit from the education program. This position may be contingent upon funding in whole or in part through state or federal grants.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

• Consult and provide training as needed for campus SLPs and teachers to plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
• Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services.
• Participate in the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders or conditions according to district procedures.
• Counsel and involve parents in the evaluation process.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity level and interests of students.
• Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance to ensure a consistent focus on student learning.
• Provide relevant parent and staff training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Qualification Guidelines

Education/Certification/Experience

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
• Valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence required.
• Experience in a supervised clinical speech-language pathology experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions.
• Skill in organization; communication; and interpersonal relations.
• Ability to use the accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions; and instruct and manage student behavior.
