Shift: 6am-2:30pm

Pay: $25-$33 (Depends on Experience)

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that manufactured parts and products meet all dimensional, visual, and documentation requirements by performing precise inspections, interpreting technical drawings, and preparing detailed quality reports for customers. This role uses a wide range of inspection tools and measurement systems, works closely with data collection and ERP systems, and supports continuous improvement in a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of precision inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height stands, drop gauges, dial indicators, profilometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision systems such as Keyence, Cognex, Teledyne or similar, to verify product dimensions and features.
• Perform inspections using thread gauges, pin gauges, and other specialized gauges to confirm compliance with specifications and tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine inspection requirements, dimensions, tolerances, and geometric features.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformance and accurately assess form, fit, and function.
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) to validate new or revised parts and document results according to customer and internal requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely quality reports for customers, including detailed measurement data and inspection findings.
• Interface with data collection systems to record and maintain inspection results, measurement data, and quality metrics.
• Interact with ERP systems to access work orders, part information, and quality documentation, and to update inspection status as needed.
• Use Microsoft Office applications to compile, analyze, and present inspection data and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to communicate nonconformances, clarify specifications, and support corrective actions.
• Follow established quality procedures and inspection plans to ensure consistent and reliable inspection results.
• Participate in inspection testing and evaluations as part of ongoing skills assessment and development.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using precision inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height stands, drop gauges, dial indicators, profilometers, CMMs, and vision systems such as Keyence, Cognex, Teledyne or similar.
• Ability to use thread gauges, pin gauges, and related gauging equipment for dimensional verification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Strong proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience interfacing with data collection systems for recording and tracking inspection results.
• Experience interacting with ERP systems to access and update quality and production information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections and preparing associated documentation.
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate quality reports for customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation.
• Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams in a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with automated or semi-automated vision inspection systems such as Keyence, Cognex, Teledyne or similar.
• Comfort participating in practical inspection tests as part of the interview and evaluation process.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspection tasks and documentation requirements.
• Ability to adapt to evolving quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.

Work Environment

This role operates in a machine shop environment where precision machining and inspection activities take place. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
