Description

• Assess patients across various age groups including children, adults, and seniors using both standardized evaluations and observational insights.
• Create tailored treatment strategies targeting immediate goals while also considering the longer-term needs for communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
• Partner closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate comprehensive care plans.
• Provide educational resources for patients and their families, empowering them to support continued progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Help with intermittent inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment pathway.
• Maintain thorough and punctual documentation adhering to state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Engage in continuous learning through ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Education

• Possess a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is needed if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of commencing employment.
