About the Role:


A well-established printing and packaging manufacturer in the Wilmington, Delaware area is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Folder Gluer Operator.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting folder gluer equipment in a folding carton, packaging, or related converting environment. The operator will be responsible for maintaining production speed, quality, and consistency while minimizing downtime and waste.

What You'll Do:

• Set up and operate folder gluer equipment for production jobs.
• Perform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments based on job specifications.
• Set feeder, folding sections, glue systems, compression, delivery, and related components.
• Read and follow job tickets, production specifications, samples, and work instructions.
• Monitor production throughout the run to maintain quality and consistency.
• Inspect finished cartons or products for proper folds, glue application, alignment, and overall appearance.
• Identify and correct issues involving feeding, folding, gluing, registration, and finished-product quality.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain production speed and reduce waste.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues to minimize downtime.
• Verify materials, substrates, adhesives, and tooling before and during production.
• Complete required quality checks and production documentation.
• Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and other departments as needed.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and machine operating requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with routine operator maintenance and communicate equipment concerns when necessary.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous hands-on folder gluer operating experience.
• Ability to independently perform machine setups and changeovers.
• Strong understanding of folding, gluing, feeding, compression, and delivery systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to identify and correct quality issues during production.
• Experience working with folding cartons, paperboard, or related packaging materials preferred.
• Ability to read job specifications and follow established production procedures.
• Strong attention to quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work the required shift.
• Commitment to workplace safety and good housekeeping practices.

Preferred Background:

• Folding carton or paperboard packaging experience.
• Experience in a commercial printing, packaging, or converting environment.
• Experience operating high-speed folder gluer equipment.
• Familiarity with straight-line, auto-bottom, crash-lock, or multi-point cartons [Confirm].
• Experience with quality systems and production documentation.
• Background in environments focused on efficiency, uptime, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
