STD SURVEILLANCE CLERK / OPS HEALTH SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE Requisition No: 877448 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: STD SURVEILLANCE CLERK / OPS HEALTH SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE - 64906007 Duties and Responsibilities Receive incoming reports of sexually transmitted infections from health care providers and laboratories. Enter health data into the Patient Reporting Surveillance Manager (STARS) database. Obtain additional health information for case management purposes. Verify patient history, diagnosis, and treatment by reviewing medical and field records. Assist the Disease Intervention Specialist and Supervisor in data management. Liaise with county health department programs and external providers to update client information. Provide backup support for other health services representatives in the STD program. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and development activities as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of correct grammar usage. Knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities. Ability to develop and implement office procedures. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Minimum Qualifications Valid driver’s license, free of major infractions, and access to an automobile for work purposes. Experience working in the STD or HIV field. Ability to work nights and weekends according to program needs. Willingness to participate in STD community outreach. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in the STD or HIV field. Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field from an accredited college or university. One (1) or more years of experience with case management or public health.
