Executive Director - Security Industry

BNP Media is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to serve as Executive Director of the Security Sector.This role is responsible for the overall performance of the Security Sector which includes Security Magazine and SDM Magazine and related products. Security Magazine | The business magazine for security executives SDM Magazine | New Directions for Security Systems & Integration The Executive Director will lead a cross-functional team including sales, content strategy, community engagement, and brand operations to drive profitable growth and strengthen BNP Media's leadership position within the security industry. Position Overview Own the business performance of the Security Sector by driving revenue growth, audience growth, market leadership, and profitability through strong leadership, strategic planning, accountability, and execution. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute annual business plans for Security and SDM Media Brands. Build revenue, audience, and profitability growth strategies. Establish clear KPIs and review performance regularly with leadership. Identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to achieve sector goals. Lead Cross-Functional Sector Teams Direct priorities across sales, content, audience, research, events, and operations. Create alignment around strategy, priorities, and performance expectations. Foster collaboration and accountability across the sector. Drive Revenue Growth Lead Sales within the sector to increase revenue across digital, print, events, research, and custom programs. Continue grow and form new relationships with prospects and customers looking to market to the security industry. Improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline visibility, and sales discipline. Identify new growth opportunities, emerging markets, and product extensions. Support major client relationships and strategic revenue initiatives. Expand Audience and Market Leadership Grow audience reach, engagement, retention, and first-party data assets. Ensure content and audience strategies are aligned with industry needs and advertiser demand. Utilize market research, RPP findings, and industry intelligence to shape future strategy. Strengthen the Security and SDM brands as trusted industry resources. Events, Research & Community Development Oversee sector events, webinars, virtual experiences, and research initiatives. Identify new event and revenue opportunities within the security market. Build relationships with industry associations, industry advocates, and key stakeholders. Evaluate opportunities to expand BNP Media's presence in emerging security segments. Operational Excellence Establish effective workflows and operating rhythms across the sector. Manage expenses responsibly and identify efficiency opportunities. Ensure resources are aligned with strategic priorities. Leadership & Talent Development Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams. Establish clear expectations and accountability. Recommend organizational changes, staffing plans, and resource allocation when needed.
