Job Summary Abrazo Biltmore Cardiology Camelback 2777 E Camelback Rd. The Echo Tech uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) and other noninvasive echocardiography testing equipment to produce images of the heart. These procedures require specialized knowledge and skills in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to a specified patient population. Responsibilities Adhere to the mission, purpose, philosophy, and policies of Tenet Physician Resources, including the HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards. Demonstrate support for the Corporate Compliance Program by following the Code of Conduct and reporting issues or concerns in a timely manner. Set up equipment and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring patient safety by following company procedures and protocols. Select the proper transducer type and frequency and move equipment/machines as needed for testing purposes. Obtain and review pertinent patient history, physical exams, and clinical data to facilitate physician diagnosis. Perform diagnostic procedures by producing and evaluating ultrasound images in accordance with organization and site protocols. Provide interpreting physicians with oral or written summaries of technical findings at their discretion. Maintain and clean equipment per manufacturer guidelines and report any difficulties or failures immediately. Complete all paperwork and billing requisitions accurately, including obtaining proper exam orders, diagnoses, and patient signatures. Maintain supplies for testing sites and assist with other clinical functions as directed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED and successful completion of an Ultrasound Tech program. Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). Registry eligible applicants must complete registration within 12 months. BLS certification required. Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical setting required; 2 years preferred.
