About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Madison, Wisconsin, 53718!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit required. License: Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: AHA BLS required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. Description: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts from 0700 to 1930. Weekend rotation up to 3 weekends per 6-week schedule period. Holiday rotations based on operational needs. The unit cares for a mix of medical and surgical patients. Medical diagnoses include pneumonia, diabetes, infections, hypertension, chest pain, heart failure, falls, failure to thrive, alcohol withdrawal, and more. Surgical diagnoses include joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder), neuro spine, bariatric procedures, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and endocrine surgeries. RNs will manage a variety of tasks including tele monitoring, central line blood draws, and administering blood products. RNs will participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. The environment is fast-paced with many discharges and admissions each day. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience includes 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. A telemetry test will be required prior to starting. The passing criteria for the test includes 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a passing score of 80% or higher. If the traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course may be required before a third attempt is assigned. Each traveler has two attempts to pass the exam. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in assignment cancellation.
