Stormwater Design Engineer

What Your Day Will Look Like: As a stormwater engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, permitting, and managing stormwater infrastructure projects in compliance with Washington State regulations and local agency requirements. You will lead technical analyses and engineering design efforts related to stormwater management systems, drainage facilities, low impact development, water quality treatment, erosion and sediment control, and flood mitigation projects. You will provide technical expertise in hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater system design, watershed management, permitting, and construction support. You will collaborate with public agencies, developers, project managers, environmental specialists, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that protect public safety and environmental resources. What You'll Do: Coordinate with project engineers on the detailed enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects. Conduct drainage analysis and design per the project's requirements and various transportation public agencies. Provide hydraulic analysis for cross-drainage structures and incorporate the results in the design of roadways and bridges. Design of stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, culvert analysis, bridge hydraulics, and floodplain compensation. What You'll Need: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Minimum four years of transportation engineering experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Proficiency in Microstation, AutoCad, and Civil3D software. This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
