Director of Accounting

Director of Accounting Apex Operations Management is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple affiliated companies. This position is responsible for leading the accounting team, maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow and banking activity, overseeing month-end close, preparing financial statements, coordinating tax and audit deliverables, and ensuring strong internal controls across the organization. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, highly organized, proactive, and accountable —someone who can not only produce accurate financial information but also lead the accounting function and keep management informed of issues before they become problems. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise the accounting team Oversee daily cash balances and banking activity Prepare and maintain cash-flow forecasts Manage month-end close and financial reporting Review bank and credit-card reconciliations Oversee accounts payable and payment processes Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations Review payroll and shared-cost allocations Monitor budgets and financial performance Coordinate with CPAs, tax advisors, auditors, and lenders Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records Identify accounting issues and proactively develop solutions Ensure critical accounting processes are documented and cross-trained Required Skills/Abilities Strong understanding of general ledger, financial statements, reconciliations, and cash-flow management Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Education and Experience Strong accounting and financial-management experience Previous leadership or supervisory experience Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred Experience with accounting and AP systems such as Gravity, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com is a plus Medical, Dental, Vision and Supplemental Insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr
