Area Director, Carolinas

The Area Director leads a major operational segment within a large organization, providing specialized industrial and commercial construction services. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, safety, and growth across multiple locations through strong leadership of sales managers and field leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction through senior managers, fostering a highperformance culture and driving accountability across the organization.
Own the performance and results of a major organizational function or significant operational segment, with direct impact on business unit outcomes.
Develop and execute short and longterm strategies to achieve key business objectives, guided by company and functional priorities.
Apply deep expertise in organizational operations, business, and commercial strategy to strengthen competitive positioning and drive differentiation in the market.
Lead and influence strategic planning efforts, translating enterprise and functional strategies into actionable plans that deliver measurable results.
Evaluate complex business challenges and direct the development of new, innovative solutions to improve performance and operational effectiveness.
Make highlevel decisions aligned with company strategy that materially impact business unit or enterprisewide outcomes.
Shape the opinions of, influence, and negotiate with other senior leaders to drive alignment, collaboration, and shared accountability.
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across the business and with external partners and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within industrial services, construction, specialty contracting, or related fieldbased operations.
Proven experience leading large, multisite operations through senior managers with full P&L accountability.
Strong background in projectbased, heavy industrial, or servicedriven environments requiring coordination between operations, sales, safety, and engineering.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute longterm operational and commercial strategies aligned with enterprise objectives.
Deep understanding of operational performance metrics, including safety, margin management, utilization, cost control, and workforce productivity.
Track record of driving cultural excellence with a strong emphasis on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Experience evaluating complex business challenges and implementing innovative, scalable solutions across large operating regions.
Exceptional executivelevel communication, influence, and negotiation skills with the ability to align and partner with senior leaders.
Strong customerfacing leadership experience, including managing key client relationships and external stakeholders.
Ability to operate effectively in a fastpaced, matrixed organization with competing priorities.
Willingness to travel regularly to support field operations and customer engagements as required.
