Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Title Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Reports to Executive Director Location 100% onsite in Denver, CO. Schedule Part‑time, fully benefits eligible W2 position. Clinical hours Monday – Friday 9:00–2:00 MST, with one hour of rounds and one hour of direct supervision with the psychiatrist each week. Hours may increase as census grows. Role Summary The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic support to individuals enrolled in our PHP and IOP programs. Collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and other clinicians will ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Role Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and intake assessments for patients in the PHP/IOP programs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric assessment findings. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and side effects. Adjust treatment plans and medication regimens as needed for ongoing medication management. Coordinate care by working closely with therapists, social workers, and other team members. Provide crisis intervention and support when needed, particularly in a PHP/IOP setting. Participate in clinical team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning discussions. Document all patient interactions and treatment in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management. Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards for the delivery of psychiatric services. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence‑based practices and advances in psychiatric care. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program. Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC) or Physician Assistant. Current, unrestricted state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Minimum one year of experience prescribing medication. Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, psychiatric medications, and treatment modalities. Excellent communication skills, collaboration in a team‑based environment, and cultural competence. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate, empathetic approach to care. Ability to manage complex cases and respond effectively to crisis situations. If eligible, willingness to provide formal clinical supervision to associate‑level clinicians as part of Guidelight’s supervision program. A winning mentality. $55.17 – $81.86 USD
