Job Title: Production Associate Job Description

The Production Associate supports a high-volume manufacturing operation that produces small metal parts for automotive vehicles using large stamping presses, welding stations, and production lines. This role involves hands-on production work, material handling, quality checks, and equipment support, requiring strong attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks across different areas of the facility.

• Operate and monitor production lines to ensure consistent output and product quality.
• Push carts of product and move materials throughout the facility to support continuous production flow.
• Perform lifting and general labor tasks, including moving parts and materials as needed.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail when handling parts and completing production tasks.
• Demonstrate strong initiative by actively supporting production needs and volunteering for additional responsibilities.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality to support reliable production schedules.
• Support crane operations by assisting with moving and organizing large metal coils, either independently or with another team member.
• Perform crane operation tasks as needed to safely transport large materials within the facility.
• Conduct quality checks on fuel lids to ensure they meet established standards and customer specifications.
• Complete general production tasks related to fuel lid manufacturing and inspection.
• Serve as a link between production and shipping by double-checking products and helping build pallets based on customer orders.
• Work with a team to monitor productivity and quality, supporting leadership and coordination on the production floor.
• Assist in checking productivity levels and quality standards across assigned lines or stations.
• Set up stamping and welding machines, including adjusting machine settings to meet production requirements.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and support machine performance using mechanical aptitude.
• Perform quality process audits on small metal parts, primarily through visual inspection, and occasionally minor dimensional checks to determine if further dimensional auditing is required.
• Read diagrams and follow detailed work instructions to confirm that team members are following proper processes and job duties.
• Report audit findings to the quality team after reviewing press, weld, conveyance, and quality processes.
• Use an iPad or similar device to document and submit quality findings and audit results.
• Walk the production floor regularly to observe processes, identify issues, and support continuous quality improvement.
• Provide constructive feedback to team members and leadership when necessary to maintain quality and process adherence.
• Use lathe and grinding machines to sharpen tips for the welding department, ensuring tools meet required specifications.
• Handle materials in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, and receiving areas, including loading, unloading, and organizing inventory.
• Perform assembly, order selecting, picking, packing, and general labor tasks as needed to support production and logistics.
• Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move products and materials safely.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, including production records and quality documentation.
• Interpret and understand all work instructions related to the position and follow them consistently.
• Remain open to additional job duties, including machine operating and other tasks, as requested by leadership.
• Collaborate with team members while working at an individual station, ensuring effective communication and support.

• Ability to stand on feet for 8–10 hours per shift and up to 10+ hours per day as required.
• Capability to lift 30+ pounds repeatedly and lift items overhead on a regular basis.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a production facility or warehouse.
• Comfort with manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and general production activities.
• Ability to perform material handling tasks, including loading, picking, packing, and general labor.
• Skill in using pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail in both production and quality inspection tasks.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow written work instructions and diagrams accurately.
• Ability to complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to production and quality.
• Reliability in attendance and punctuality, consistently showing up on time every day.
• Willingness to take on any task with a “no job is too small” mindset.
• Openness to cross-training and performing other job duties, including machine operation, as requested.
• Comfort working both independently at a station and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand machine setup and basic troubleshooting for stamping and welding equipment.
• Experience with crane operation or assisting with crane activities to move large metal coils.
• Experience performing quality checks on manufactured parts, including visual and minor dimensional inspections.
• Ability to use digital tools such as an iPad to record and report quality findings.
• Experience in assembly, order selecting, inventory handling, picking, packing, and general labor in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Interest in leadership responsibilities, such as line lead duties, including coordinating between production and shipping and monitoring productivity and quality.
• Tenure or prior experience that demonstrates commitment and stability in previous roles.
• Comfort using lathe and grinding machines to prepare tooling for welding operations.

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that uses large stamping presses, welding stations, production lines, cranes, lathes, and grinding machines. Team members stand on their feet for 8–10 hour shifts and work at individual stations while remaining part of a collaborative team environment. Work involves frequent lifting, material handling, and movement throughout the production floor, with a focus on safety, quality, and consistent production flow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in San Antonio,TX.
