Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in a Cardiac Cath Lab / EP setting supporting an average daily census of approximately 15 cases
• Perform and assist with procedures including ablations (VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node), ICD/pacemaker placement and exchanges, laser lead extraction, and left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO)
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation during procedures
• Fulfill rotating late-team assignments, including 1st Late (completing the last case of the day) and 2nd Late (supporting close-out of the second-to-last patient), with at least one of each expected per week
• Operate and set up specialized equipment including PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, and Cardio Lab systems; document using EPIC (CUPID) and communicate via SBAR
• Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab / EP nursing experience
• Proficiency in electrophysiology lab procedures, interpretation of dysrhythmias, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, sterile technique, and scrub/circulator roles
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced EP procedures such as cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, conduction studies, Watchman/LAAO, and insertion/programming of AICDs
• Familiarity with Pyxis, EPIC (CUPID), and Cardio Lab documentation systems
• Experience with laser-assisted procedures and temporary/permanent pacemaker insertion
• Comfort floating to other units or areas within or near the facility as needed
