Job Summary:
Pediatric Recovery Room (PACU PEDS) Specialist in San Francisco, California. This position involves providing care for pediatric patients in an inpatient recovery setting, with responsibilities spanning day and evening shifts. The role requires flexibility to float within the facility and perform specialized postoperative pediatric care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting at various times between 06:00 and 10:00, 36 hours per week. Shifts may include three 12-hour shifts, a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, or five 8-hour shifts, with rotation every four weeks.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification, and minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric Preoperative/Pre-Anesthesia Care Unit (PreOp/PACU) and Pediatric Critical Care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN), Certified Pediatric Advanced Nurse Certification (CPAN), Certified Adult Pediatric Certification (CAPA).
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients with daily census averaging 30. The unit manages complex cases including ENT/OHNS, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology, plastics, vascular, transplants, hematology/oncology, gastroenterology, urology, gynecology, and general surgery. Pediatric Heart Center functions independently for high-acuity cardiac patients, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) scenarios. The unit uses Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system. Candidates must have familiarity with tracheostomy and home ventilation equipment. Floating to different units within a 75+ mile radius may be required.
• Additional Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience and experience with patient ratios, charting systems, and trauma levels are preferred. Certification in modules related to pediatric inpatient care, and ability to start sooner for eligible candidates, are considered advantages.
