Administrative Support For School Of Art & Art History

The USF School of Art & Art History features an internationally recognized, three-year interdisciplinary MFA program in addition to degrees in Studio Art, Art History, and Graphic Design. With 700 majors and more than 25 full-time faculty on two campuses, the School is the visual arts educational hub in a diverse region of more than 3 million residents and boasts multiple outstanding museums, galleries, and cultural venues. This position provides specialized administrative support for the School of Art & Art History. This position assists with the daily operation of the main office, marketing, social media and student recruitment; provides academic instruction support; and coordinates the security and safety of the SAAH buildings.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Office Manager with the daily operation of the main office, organizing calendars, directories, email lists and planning special events
• Marketing & social media
• Student recruitment, giving tours of art facilities
• Hiring and supervising Federal Work Study students
• Carolyn M. Wilson Gallery Coordinator, scheduling exhibitions and receptions, managing proposal submissions and contracts, supervising gallery assistants
• Studio Assignment Coordinator, managing private art studios for students, processing forms, deposits, and refunds
• Building management duties, submitting and tracking work orders for 3 buildings, ordering keys and granting card access
• Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator, tracking safety trainings for students and faculty, performing studio inspections, scheduling hazardous waste pick ups
• Ordering supplies and keeping inventory
• Assists faculty as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, with four or more years of experience in an office or administrative support position. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree and arts related experience/interest.

Special Skills/Training:

Ability to walk up and down stairs and occasional lifting of 15-20lbs.
