Job Description

Job Title: Psychiatrist – Outpatient Corrections
Location: California

• Provide psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Manage medications and ongoing psychiatric care for justice-involved adults
• Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention as needed
• Collaborate with correctional, medical, and behavioral health teams
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and care coordination
• Support re-entry planning and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and protocol development

• MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
• DEA license required
• Experience in correctional, forensic, or community psychiatry preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a correctional environment

• Full-time schedule
• Daytime hours (typical business hours)
• Schedule may vary based on program needs

• Strong psychiatric assessment and diagnostic skills
