Respiratory Therapist Reg

RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare delivery system in New Jersey, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist Reg to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across a wide range of ages and clinical conditions, supporting our mission of patient-centric care with leading-edge treatments. As a Respiratory Therapist Reg, you will perform comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders, interpret diagnostic data, and deliver evidence-based respiratory therapies. Your responsibilities will include administering oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy; managing and troubleshooting ventilators and other advanced respiratory support equipment; performing arterial blood gas sampling and analysis; and assisting with airway management, including intubation support and emergency response. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans, adjust therapies based on patient response, and provide timely clinical updates. You will play an active role in patient and family education, explaining respiratory conditions, equipment use, and self-care strategies to support recovery and long-term disease management. In addition, you will help maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record, adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols, and ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of respiratory care equipment. Participation in rapid response and code teams, transport of critically ill patients on respiratory support, and contribution to performance improvement and quality initiatives are also integral aspects of this position.
