Job Title: Wire Harness Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and binding wires and cables into wire harnesses used in electronic and electrical systems and equipment. You will work in a clean manufacturing environment, follow detailed on-screen work instructions, and use hand and power tools to build high-quality assemblies that meet production and safety standards.
Responsibilities

• Assemble wire harnesses and related components according to specifications and step-by-step work instructions displayed on a screen.
• Bind wires and cables using cable ties, cable lacing, electrical conduit, and sleeves in line with electrical wiring plans and guidelines.
• Follow all safety standards, policies, and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret drawings and schematics to support accurate assembly and wiring tasks.
• Operate a computer and touchscreen to access work instructions, record production data, and navigate assembly steps.
• Use hand tools and power tools to perform assembly, wiring, crimping, and mechanical tasks safely and efficiently.
• Meet daily and weekly production expectations while maintaining quality and accuracy in all assemblies..

Essential Skills

• Manufacturing experience in an assembly or production environment.
• Electrical helper background or strong mechanical skill set applicable to assembly and wiring work.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly and fabrication.
• Assembly experience, preferably in electrical, mechanical, or panel-building settings.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions from a computer screen or touchscreen.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate a computer in English.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to push carts and storage racks as part of material handling.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read or learn to read drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience with crimping tools and techniques for electrical connections.
• Small wiring experience, including panel wiring, control panel assembly, and panel building.
• Experience as a panel builder or working on control panels and electrical wiring assemblies.
• Bi-lingual communication skills.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and participation in 5S or continuous improvement programs.

Work Environment
This position is based in a very clean manufacturing facility with work primarily performed while sitting at a workstation. The normal shift starts at 4:00 a.m., with workdays typically ranging from 8 to 12 hours and some overtime on weekends as needed to meet production demands. You will regularly use a computer and touchscreen to follow instructions and document work. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and efficiency, with required use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety policies.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
