We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract Logistics Coordinator to support materials operations, laboratory services, inventory management, shipping, and receiving activities within a fast-paced scientific and operational environment. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, and customer support while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.


As a Logistics Coordinator, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure critical materials, equipment, and resources are available to support daily operations and project success.
Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventory management for laboratory consumables, reagents, chemicals, glassware, and related materials across multiple departments.
• Support shipping, receiving, material handling, and warehouse operations while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Verify incoming shipments, inspect materials for quality and condition, and prepare receiving documentation.
• Package and prepare materials for shipment, including required shipping documentation and compliance requirements.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure materials and equipment are available when needed, minimizing workflow interruptions.
• Maintain proper storage, handling, and temperature control requirements for materials.
• Adhere to regulatory and safety standards, including GLP, DOT, Hazardous Materials (HazMat), and applicable company policies.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide support to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and internal operations teams while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
• Complete cross-functional training within materials operations and support special projects as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and equipment.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and effectively following required training and certification.
• Provide regular updates to supervisors and team leads regarding progress, priorities, and operational concerns.
• Attend departmental meetings and contribute to team objectives.
• Meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One of the following preferred:
  • College-level coursework in Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Associate Degree (AA/AS) in a science-related discipline.
• Experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, material handling, packing, shipping, or receiving preferred.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and customer service.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices is a plus.
• Experience with LEAN, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies is preferred.
• Proficiency with relevant computer applications and material handling equipment.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must complete all required training, certifications, and compliance requirements on schedule.
• Willingness to become certified and proficient in powered industrial truck (PIT) operation.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.
• Flexibility to work weekends, alternate shifts, and additional hours when required.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
