Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Diesel Mechanic

Shifts available are: Sun-Wed (4/10hr shifts) 6am-4:30pm Wed-Sat (4/10hr shifts) 6am-4:30pm Mon-Fri 2pm-10:30PM ($3hr shift premium). Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced shop environment and capable of performing a wide range of maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty equipment and transport units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on diesel-powered equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service work
- Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, steering components, suspension systems, and driveline assemblies
- Troubleshoot and repair air brake systems and lighting/electrical faults
- Complete tire service and general mechanical repairs
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
- Service HVAC and air conditioning systems on fleet equipment
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate equipment needs effectively
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel, heavy equipment, trailer, or fleet maintenance required
- Ability to safely use diagnostic and repair equipment
- Class A CDL is preferred but not required
- Candidates must provide their own standard hand tools; specialty and shop equipment are supplied by the company
- Working knowledge of: Hydraulics, Air brake systems, Electrical diagnostics, Diesel engines, Suspension and steering systems, Preventative maintenance procedures, Welding and fabrication
