Position: Full-Time, Live-Out Nanny / Family Assistant ( live-in while in other areas traveling)
Location: Coconut Grove, Florida, with regular domestic and international travel
Schedule:   Tuesday- Friday 1PM-8PM, Saturday 8AM-8PM . Minimum 40 hours per week with flexibility for evenings, weekends, overnights, holidays, and travel
Employment: W-2 position; overtime paid at 1.5x the applicable hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek
Salary:  $38-$40/hour to start
Start Date: Flexible for the right candidate
Travel: Frequent domestic and international travel required

About the Family

A warm and active private family based in Coconut Grove, Florida is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly reliable Nanny / Family Assistant to join their household on a long-term basis. The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children while also being comfortable assisting with household organization, errands, travel preparation, and day-to-day family logistics.

The family has three energetic boys, currently ages 5.5, 5.5 (twins), and 3.5. The ideal candidate will be warm, playful, proactive, organized, flexible, and confident managing three young children both at home and while traveling.

This is a career-oriented position for someone who enjoys becoming an integral and trusted member of a private household team.

Children: Three boys, ages 5.5, 5.5, and 3.5
Pets: One Goldendoodle
Household Staff: Professional housekeeping staff are employed; this is not a housekeeping position.

Schedule

The anticipated schedule while the family is in Miami is:

• Sunday: Off
• Monday: Off
• Tuesday–Friday: 1:00 PM–8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM

The parents frequently have dinners, events, and evening commitments, so occasional later evenings—commonly until approximately 10:00 PM—will be required. Advance notice will be provided whenever reasonably possible.

The schedule may shift according to school calendars, children's activities, family events, travel, and other household needs. Flexibility regarding days, hours, and work location is essential.

Travel

Travel is an important component of this position. The family typically spends portions of the summer in Michigan and Europe and also travels throughout the year for vacations, holidays, weekends, and other commitments.

Candidates must have a valid U.S. passport and be comfortable traveling domestically and internationally, including being away from Miami for extended periods.

During extended summer travel, the Nanny / Family Assistant may live with the family and work a rotational schedule designed to provide longer consecutive periods off while maintaining hours broadly comparable to the regular Miami schedule. A sample rotation may include six days working, two days off, six days working, followed by seven days off.

The family pays for airfare, accommodations, and approved work-related travel expenses. Every reasonable effort is made to provide a private bedroom during travel. Depending on the accommodations, occasional room sharing with one or more children may be necessary, but the Nanny / Family Assistant will never be expected to share a bed with a child.

Occasional overnight childcare is also required when the parents travel without the children. Overnight schedules and compensation will be discussed in advance.

Responsibilities

The Nanny / Family Assistant's primary responsibility is providing safe, attentive, warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate care for the family's three children. Responsibilities include planning age-appropriate activities, outings, crafts, games, and enrichment opportunities; reading, playing, swimming, and actively engaging with the children; and encouraging independence and age-appropriate responsibility.

The Nanny / Family Assistant will support the children's social, emotional, and educational development, assist with homework and school responsibilities when needed, and follow family schedules for school, sports, lessons, appointments, playdates, parties, and other activities.

Additional childcare responsibilities include:

• Handling school and activity pickups and drop-offs as needed
• Preparing the children for school, activities, bedtime, travel, and family events
• Assisting with dressing, bathing, showering, teeth brushing, hair care, and age-appropriate grooming
• Preparing nutritious children's meals and snacks and assisting with family meal preparation
• Maintaining stocked food and beverage items for the children
• Washing, drying, folding, and putting away children's laundry
• Maintaining organized children's closets, drawers, bedrooms, and play spaces
• Identifying clothing that has been outgrown, damaged, or needs replacement
• Packing and unpacking the children for travel
• Maintaining awareness of current age-appropriate childcare and safety practices
• Communicating openly with the parents regarding behavioral concerns, developmental observations, injuries, illnesses, school matters, and other important updates

Family Assistant Responsibilities

When the children are at school, participating in activities, sleeping, or otherwise do not require direct supervision, the candidate will assist with reasonable household and family-management responsibilities.

These duties may include grocery shopping, returns and exchanges, prescription pickups, household errands, family meal preparation, maintaining household inventories, restocking beverages and household supplies, loading and unloading the dishwasher, putting away dishes, wiping counters, and keeping family living areas orderly.

The Nanny / Family Assistant will also assist with organizing children's bedrooms, playrooms, supplies, and equipment; packing and preparing for family travel; unpacking following trips; maintaining children's car seats as needed; and completing other reasonable family-assistant tasks requested by the parents.

Professional housekeeping staff are employed by the family, so this is not a housekeeping role. The candidate should, however, naturally contribute to maintaining an organized, functional, and tidy household throughout the day.

Pet Care

The family has a Goldendoodle, so candidates must be comfortable around dogs. Occasional basic pet-care responsibilities may include feeding, filling water bowls, letting the dog outside, taking him for walks, providing basic supervision, and assisting with his care while the parents are away. Primary pet care is not a central responsibility of the position.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience caring for young children, preferably including experience managing multiple children simultaneously

• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Current CPR certification
• Current First Aid certification
• Valid U.S. passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Knowledge of proper car-seat installation and use
• Strong swimming and water-safety awareness
• Excellent judgment regarding child supervision, transportation, activities, outings, household safety, travel, and emergencies
• Comfortable with dogs

Personal phone use should be avoided while actively supervising the children.

The candidate may not bring personal guests into family residences or travel accommodations without approval or transfer responsibility for the children to an unauthorized individual.

Smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption, illegal drug use, or reporting to work impaired is strictly prohibited while on duty, transporting the children, or on family property.

This is a full-time W-2 position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime is paid at 1.5x the applicable hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, and employees are paid twice monthly.
