Retirement Manager

The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Benefits, the Retirement Manager will lead administration and operations to continuously improve retirement plans and programs for Toyota Motor North America team members and retirees, ensuring alignment with company values. What you’ll be doing Manages employee benefit programs to include defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Effectively manages ongoing vendor relationships and ensures the delivery of quality service and cost containment effectiveness. Communicates extensively with internal and external legal staff for the resolution of issues, preparation of compliance documents, contracts, statement of work and review of benefits communications. Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing plans, surveys and other sources of information. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations to management. Manages a team of benefit professionals, fostering collaboration across functions to accomplish objectives. Ensures company compliance with provisions of all plans. Works effectively at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas. Manages preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as the IRS, DOL, PBGC, insurance commissioners and other regulatory agencies. Prepares and distributes compliance communications, including changes or clarifications to benefits, and leads retirement communication strategy to promote retirement readiness. Handles retirement plan and program inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Oversees maintenance of records for all benefit plans. Executes ad hoc projects as needed. What you bring Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources or closely related field or equivalent professional experience relevant to this position. Extensive knowledge of retirement plans and programs, including pension and 401(k) plans. Extensive benefits administration experience. Knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements as they apply to benefit plans, programs or practices, and company policies and operations. Recent and extensive experience managing external vendor relationships. Excellent presentation and project management skills. Strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude. Supervisory and/or managerial experience in a corporate enterprise environment. Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability and willingness to travel 15% of the time. Experience with large companies having 10,000+ employees (bonus). Advanced degree relevant to this position (bonus). Certifications such as CBP, SPHR, CCP, CEBS, or similar (bonus).
