General Purpose: The Salesforce Administrator for our Credit Union is responsible for analyzing, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining Salesforce applications and systems that are critical to the operation of our financial institution. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, IT personnel, and vendors to ensure the efficient and effective use of technology to meet the needs of our Credit Union. Work Environment/Physical Activities Occasional travel to one of BHFCU's branch locations or attendance at community events may be required. This position is remote work eligible under certain circumstances.
This position has the option of a hybrid work schedule. An assessment of the remote work environment must be completed prior to a remote work plan being developed. Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters. - Maintain basic Salesforce Administration tasks such as user management, onboarding, and data management.
- Handle basic configuration such as creating fields, updating page layouts, building dashboards and reports.
- Assist with support to Salesforce users, addressing issues and answering questions related to the platform and managing the support channel.
- Monitor and assist in driving user adoption.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating requirements, analyzing problem definitions, and proposing solutions.
- Research and analysis of business change opportunities to support management decisions and innovative ideas.
- Maintain Comprehensive documentation related to Salesforce configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Configuration changes including (but not limited to): Flow, assignments rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, custom settings, and building dashboards and reports.
- Understand both the current set-up and our business objectives, to quickly identify areas of improvement.
- Effective communication both internally and with other departments/stakeholders, prioritization and managing all aspects of a Salesforce project.
- Ability to translate technical information into layman's terms, clearly explaining design options and their potential impact.
- Sandbox environment management.
- Provide insight and guidance into overall Salesforce information architectures and designs.
- Understand basics of triggers/Apex code knowledge.
- DevOps/release management experience.
- Mentor Salesforce Administrators through software project lifecycles and security.
- Advise the Salesforce Manager on project prioritization, as needed.
- Lead training, share skills and knowledge, and provide work directions to Salesforce team members.
- Ensure the development of efficient and performant applications adhering to appropriate architecture design principles.
- Support deployment and post-implementation testing/validation of configuration changes and program releases.
- Offer constructive feedback to junior administrators to support their professional development and promote best administrative practices.
- Gather necessary information from vendors, provide advice on software licensing, recommend purchases, and oversee testing and approvals for new products.
- Maintain and promote the highest standards of information security and privacy policies in accordance with Black Hills FCU's security guidelines.
- Serve as back-up support to maintain and administer parameters, defaults, and system settings within the Credit Union's software applications.
- Coordinate vendors and vendor relationships to maintain a positive working relationship that benefits the Credit Union and ensures reliable, high-quality service.
- Lead or co-lead development projects in a timely manner, adhering to internal standards of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Use various project development methods if warranted. Communicate effectively with interested parties.
- Maintain and improve existing applications, providing direction to ensure that applications are kept up-to-date with supported and current technologies.
- Provide exceptional front-line support to end users throughout the organization.
- Expand knowledge and proficiency to maintain capabilities to develop and support systems as technologies evolve.
- Stay up-to-date on Salesforce.com releases, features, and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Salesforce Manager.

- Knowledge of modern principles and practices of technology, systems integration, and project management.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, composition, and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of Credit Union rules, products, services, regulations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Credit Union philosophies, practices, policies, and interrelated functions.
- Knowledge of project management standards and practices.
- Knowledge of the Credit Union's core system, Salesforce, and various other Salesforce application integrations.
- A strong technological knowledge and understanding as to how the digital products interact collectively and with other systems in the BHFCU environment.
- Knowledge of project management standards and practices.
- Vision: A sighted person to read and interpret data.
- Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff and vendors.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform necessary computer-related input.
- Physical Mobility: Some physical mobility required. Ability to travel for meetings, travel to other offices, and the ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to think strategically and coordinate agreement with appropriate staff within the Credit Union.

- Basic knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities.

- Understanding of software principles and tools, including testing.
- Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes, is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in Salesforce or in an IT related role.
- Proficient knowledge of Salesforce platform.
- Experience problem-solving complex and diverse issues impacting multiple functional areas.
- Experience in formal project management, actively overseeing and contributing to the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
- Experience in collaborating with vendors and cross-functional departments throughout the software development lifecycle, including improvement, adoption, and enhancement initiatives.
- Salesforce and other relevant software certifications and training.
- 5+ years of experience in Salesforce applications.
- Experience leading and managing teams and vendor relationships.
- Completed relevant certifications/education pathways and considered a master of Salesforce, in addition to any other individually assigned applications.
