We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to join the Farbman Group team. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for tenants. In addition to core maintenance duties, this role also supports ClimateGuard Pro, Farbman Group's Internet of Things (IoT) sensor monitoring platform installing and programming sensors at client sites, training on-site users, and monitoring alerts to ensure client properties remain protected. This is a dual-function role combining hands-on building engineering with ClimateGuard Pro field support, and it reports out of our Detroit, Michigan base.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of commercial properties, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.

Respond promptly to tenant service requests and maintenance emergencies, ensuring timely and professional resolution.

Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure efficiency, safety, and proper operation.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services as needed.

Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment status, and inventory of supplies.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable commercial building regulations.

Assist with space turnovers, including preparing vacant units for new tenants.

Support the overall upkeep of the property, including common areas, amenities, and curb appeal.

Assist in managing maintenance supplies and staying within budget guidelines.
