Academic Medical Oncology Physician

Joseph Medical Center, located in Tacoma, Washington, is part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. We are searching for a highly motivated Advanced Surgical Oncologist to join our Center for Digestive Health. The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical care for patients with a broad spectrum of oncologic diseases and play a key role in program development and resident education. Responsibilities Provide advanced surgical care for patients with a broad spectrum of oncologic diseases Actively participate in education and mentorship of general surgery residents, providing guidance and hands‑on experience in advanced oncologic surgical techniques Collaborate effectively with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care Establish and nurture key partnerships within the medical community and with referring providers to build a robust referral network Lead and significantly impact the growth of our surgical oncology program Maintain a supportive and collaborative work environment within a reputable medical center Dedicated emphasis on teaching and mentoring the next generation of surgeons Qualifications Board Certification in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery Board Certification in complex general surgical oncology by the American Board of Surgery Demonstrated experience in a broad range of surgical oncology procedures Proven experience and enthusiasm for resident education and mentorship Strong interest and experience in program building and developing key partnerships Ability to obtain a medical profession license in the state of Washington Must be a physician in good standing Benefits Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans Generous relocation assistance may be available #J-18808-Ljbffr CommonSpirit Health
