Summary Responsible to assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency and other related disorders. Essential Functions Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals. Implement treatment plans through a variety of techniques and modalities. Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed. Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, and provide strategies for improving communication. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy required. No experience in lieu of a degree. Licenses and Credentials: State license – Speech-language Pathologist required; Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver’s License required. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC‑A), Basic Life Support (BLS), Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP). Experience: Speech pathology experience 0‑1 year preferred; acute hospital experience 0‑1 year preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with diagnostic assessments for speech and language; strong interpersonal skills; ability to incorporate new clinical procedures independently; ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech‑language pathology scope of practice; understanding of the implications of new information for problem‑solving and decision‑making; knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations.
