Server / Deckhand (Part-Time) Liberty Cruise

Servers WantedTopview Sightseeing is looking for servers to join our team and be the first point of contact for our guests. You should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive experience from the moment they arrive till their departure. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role. Ultimately, you'll ensure we provide excellent guest service with high standards and a pleasant cruise experience to our guests.Responsibilities:Servers are responsible for opening and closing side-work which can include, but is not limited to:Polishing glassware and silverwareSetting the dining room for brunch/dinner service with the appropriate table setup.Preparing side stations with appropriate amount of pens and backupsMaking sure lamps and handhelds are charged before service, and put to charge after.Making sure sugar caddies and salt and pepper shakers are replenishedCoffee stations are clean and fully stocked.Servers should welcome guests aboard and assist them in seating comfortably in their designation sectionServers are required to up sell bottled water optionsServers are responsible for accurately taking guests food and drink orders, while collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of ordersServers are responsible for memorizing the menu dishes and cocktails while upselling premium optionsServers are to assist with the upkeep of tables, bussing, and keeping the dining area presentable.Servers are responsible for setting and rearranging the dining area to accommodate reservations appropriatelyHandle mooring lines to dock or undock the vesselResponsible for getting underway, mooring, anchoring, handling lines, and bridge operations in all weather conditionsPerform lookout duties while underway, including watching for other vessels and monitoring the waterway for potentially unsafe conditionsAssist in boarding and disembarking of passengersAssist with filling water, bunkering fuel, unloading black water, connecting and disconnecting shore power as directedPerform cleaning and custodial tasks of the vessels and property, including maintenance and construction tasks as assigned and minor engineering repairs and rounds as directedSeek the highest levels of quality and professionalismMaintain passenger countWork to achieve the highest levels of performance and productivityAssist with training of crew as directedSeek continuous improvementAssist the Captain in ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulationsAssist the Captain in ensuring the vessel is in an inspection-ready condition at all timesMonitor passenger & crew member safety issues on the boat. Ensure that safety equipment is utilized and appropriate guidelines are followed for all tasks involving physical risk or hazardous materialsParticipate in meetings, training, drills and safety audits as required by USCG & company policyDevelop the understanding of all phases of shipboard safety procedures and knowledge of the location and use of all firefighting and safety equipment (i.e. fire extinguishers, fire stations, life preservers, work vest, and life floats)Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Report safety, operational, and environmental issues to your direct supervisor immediatelyAdditional job duties assignedRequirements:This position requires a pre-employment drug screen due to federal contract requirements.Proven work experience as a serverHands-on experience with cash register and ordering information systemAttentiveness and patience for customersActive listening and effective communication skillsTeam playerPrevious marine experience preferredMust be able to lift 50 lbsAvailable to work a variety of hours, days and shifts.Pay:This position pays $17/hr + tips
