The Campaign for College Opportunity (the Campaign) seeks a highly organized, relationship-driven, and energetic Partnership Coordinator to help strengthen and expand the network of students, advocates, educators, institutions, and community partners engaged in advancing our mission. The Partnership Coordinator is a full-time hybrid work role, requiring 30-40% of time allocated to travel throughout California. This is a hybrid position based in California, with a preference for Sacramento-based candidates. The Organization The Campaign for College Opportunity is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) broad-based, bipartisan coalition, including business, education, and civil rights leaders, that strives to achieve racial and economic justice in California. We promote a more fair and vibrant economy and democracy through an affordable, accountable, and workforce-connected higher education system that ensures more low-income and historically minoritized students complete degrees that allow them to lead economically prosperous lives. The Campaign maintains offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento. Position Summary Working collaboratively across the policy, research, communications, development, and operations teams, the Partnership Coordinator will coordinate the Campaign for College Opportunity’s work to develop, deepen, and activate our partnerships with students, advocates, educators, institutional leaders, community organizations, policymakers, employers, and philanthropic partners, which are essential to our ability to turn research and ideas into student-centered action. The Partnership Coordinator will play an important role in connecting the Campaign’s policy and research agenda to the people and organizations necessary to achieve meaningful systems change. The Partnership Coordinator will report to the Vice President of Policy & Advocacy and support coalition and stakeholder engagement, advocacy opportunities, convenings and events, and the cultivation of new partnerships across California. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about higher education and educational equity, enjoys bringing people together around a shared purpose, and can move seamlessly between relationship building and the operational details required to turn ideas into action. Responsibilities Coalition, Convening & Program Coordination (60%) Support the Campaign’s statewide coalitions, including coordinating coalition meetings/events, communications, materials, follow-up, and partner engagement. Coordinate meetings, workshops, trainings, briefings, and convenings involving Campaign partners and stakeholders. Work closely with Campaign staff and external partners to translate shared coalition priorities into coordinated activities and action. Help expand opportunities for students to inform, participate in, and lead the Campaign’s advocacy and policy work. Track participation, engagement, deliverables, and other program information to support organizational learning, evaluation, and funder reporting. Identify opportunities to improve the partner and student experience and strengthen the Campaign’s engagement practices. Partnership Engagement & Relationship Cultivation (30%) Support organization-wide efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with students, higher education leaders, educators, advocates, community-based organizations, policymakers, employers, and other partners throughout California. Help cultivate new relationships that expand the Campaign’s reach, strengthen regional and statewide engagement, and advance organizational and policy priorities. Maintain consistent communication with partners and identify opportunities for deeper engagement and collaboration. Coordinate outreach to diverse constituency groups and communities, including student leaders, alumni, and business/workforce partners, who can serve as ambassadors for equitable higher education reform. Represent the Campaign, as appropriate, at meetings, conferences, convenings, workshops, and other external events. Organizational Support & Other (10%) Help identify opportunities for new partnerships, regional engagement, program growth, and alignment with philanthropic and organizational priorities. Maintain stakeholder and partnership information and help strengthen systems for tracking relationships, engagement, and opportunities. Collaborate across the Campaign’s policy, research, communications, and development teams to ensure partnerships are leveraged strategically across the organization. Contribute to organizational planning, strategy discussions, and special initiatives. Compensation Annual salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications in the range of $60,000 to $65,000. For regular, full-time employees, our total compensation package includes competitive, equitable base pay and benefits as outlined below: Competitive and equitable salary – Salaries reflect the Campaign’s compensation philosophy of market competitiveness and pay equity. All candidates receive a first/best offer in line with our market talent and geography, and that recognizes their education/training, years of experience, and level of expertise. Paid Time Off – The Campaign provides three weeks paid vacation, 14 paid holidays (including Farmworker Day and Juneteenth), and eight days paid sick leave. Retirement Savings – After 90 days of service, employees are eligible to enroll in our 401k plan, and for those who do enroll, we provide a generous 401k match of up to 5% with 100% immediate vesting. Flexible Spending Account – The Campaign provides an opportunity for employees to use pre-tax dollars for eligible Medical and Dependent Care expenses. Peace of Mind – The Campaign covers the cost of basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and AD&D insurance. Growth and Development – The Campaign values each team member’s professional growth and, through our professional development program, provide $1,000 per employee to put toward individualized development needs each year, as well as additional professional development opportunities, as approved by their supervisors.
