In this role, youll combine hands-on leadership with lean manufacturing expertise to improve flow, reduce waste, and elevate safety, productivity, and quality. Youll coach and develop team members, solve real-time production challenges, and create visibility from raw materials to finished power units. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager./ppKey Details:/pulliLocation: New Hudson, MI/liliCompensation: Commensurate with experience/li/ulh3Key Responsibilities:/h3ulliOperational Leadership:/liulliOversee day-to-day production activities for our marine engine production team/liliEnsure production schedules, takt time targets, and customer delivery requirements are consistently met./liliMaintain real-time visibility of work-in-process, bottlenecks, and throughput./li/ulliLean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement:/liulliIdentify and lead kaizen events, root-cause problem solving, and waste-reduction initiatives./liliImplement and sustain lean tools such as 5S, standard work, visual management, and value stream mapping./liliMonitor KPIs and drive actions to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost./li/ulliTeam Leadership Development:/liulliSupervise, coach, and develop production team members./liliConduct performance evaluations and support skill-building and cross-training./liliFoster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement./li/ulliQuality Safety:/liulliEnsure compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements./liliAddress non-conformances and implement corrective actions./liliPromote a zero-defect mindset and safe work environment./li/ulliCross-Functional Collaboration:/liulliPartner with Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality to resolve issues and optimize flow./liliParticipate in planning meetings to align capacity, staffing, and material needs./liliCommunicate production status, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership./li/ul/ulh3Qualifications:/h3ulliRequired:/liulliBachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Automotive, Mechanical Engineering or similar/liliExperience in manufacturing supervision or team leadership./liliStrong understanding of internal combustion engines: how they work, components/liliStrong understanding of lean manufacturing principles./liliAbility to lead teams and manage performance./liliStrong communication and organizational skills./li/ulliPreferred:/liulliBackground in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or low-volume/high-complexity manufacturing./liliExperience with value stream mapping or managing end-to-end production flow./liliLean or Six Sigma certifications./li/ul/ulh3Success Looks Like:/h3ulliStable, predictable production flow./liliEngaged team with clear performance ownership./liliContinuous improvement initiatives delivering measurable results./liliStrong alignment across production, quality, and supply chain./liliSafe, clean, and organized work environment./li/ul/div
