Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Observation Unit night shift position requiring an active MI license and 2+ years of Med Surg/Observation experience.

Details

• Work in the Observation Unit of a 328-bed medical center with Level II trauma care
• Provides direct patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• 2+ years of Med Surg/Observation experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Skills checklist pertinent to Observation specialty, current within 1 year
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years

Additional Information

• Assess, implement, and monitor patient care for outpatients in observation status
• Administer medications, perform treatments, respond to call lights and alarms, and assist with patient transfers
• Collaborate with the care team to evaluate and update treatment plans
• Process physician orders accurately and follow up on medication changes and order clarifications
• Navy blue scrub dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
