Supply Chain Apprentice - Ripley, Derbyshire The role: Full‑time (36.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday) at the Ripley, Derbyshire site. Apprentice will study a Supply Chain Practitioner Level 3 qualification (approx. 23 months). The studies take place on site with a monthly mentor visit. The role offers exposure to all aspects of supply‑chain within a global company: production planning, materials control, demand planning, warehousing, and group sales support (import/export). Key responsibilities: Develop skills in supply‑chain planning, including demand planning, production scheduling, and materials control. Understand the purchasing process and the link between purchasing, material control, and production scheduling. Learn how to review material requirements, place orders for raw materials, and manage storage constraints. Gain knowledge of the finished‑goods warehouse: warehouse functions, processes, inventory control, and link to planning and warehouse office processes. Support group sales: import/export documentation, logistics (including cross‑docking between sites), and sales order processing. Develop core business skills: phone and email communication, inter‑departmental collaboration, people skills, IT proficiency, and health & safety expectations. Successful candidate should have: 5 GCSEs grades 4–9 including Maths and English. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel). Willingness to learn, curiosity, openness to feedback, and motivation to develop technical and practical skills. Good organisation and time‑management skills, ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines. Reliability, punctuality, and an organised work ethic. Teamworking skills, respectful and collaborative. Clear communication skills, listening and note‑taking. Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling. Adaptability to new tasks, changing priorities, and a busy manufacturing environment. Salary: £20,600 max. Bonus: £824. Hours: 36.5 per week, office based (no hybrid).
