Catering Coordinator

As a Catering Coordinator, you will be responsible for ring up, prepping, packaging, delivering, and setting up catering events while maintaining Taco Buddha standards and accuracy as required by the event. CC will participate asa leader, with the Catering Manager when eligible, in all staffed events. Staffed events can include but are not limited to weddings and Bendecido Room rentals. The Catering Manager and Catering Coordinator will inform and work with the Kitchen Manager to ensure all upcoming events are accounted for and product is available as needed. CC will communicate with potential guests to help determine the needs of their event, schedule events, and ensure the catering calendar is balanced appropriately. Ensure high food quality served at event and make necessary adjustments should the food quality dip below Taco Buddha/health code standards. Communicate with ordering manager to ensure catering paper supplies are stocked. Stay in constant communication with Catering Manager to remain knowledgeable of upcoming events. Communicate with Catering Manager any issues or potential concerns that arise with any event and work in tandem to resolve appropriately Stay up to date and knowledgeable of catering calendar on both Toast and the Google Calendar, as well as incoming and future EZ Cater orders. Hold all team members, including self, accountable for their performance; provide coaching and counseling as needed during the preparation and completion of events. Delivery and Pickup Orders: Ringing orders through the POS and Toast backend when applicable. Pack and prep paper, cold, and hot items for catering. orders according to order sheet. Griddle tortillas. Deliver order to specified address in a time appropriate manner as needed by the event. Set up order as needed for the guest. Ring orders through POS system. Print orders for kitchen, communicate with kitchen team and restaurant managers about current and upcoming orders. Maintain inventory of paper goods. Available for last minute orders that come through (12 hour window). During Staffed Events: Clean and set up space for the event, including food items and display items. Griddle tortillas. Bartend according to the event's needs. Bus tables and refill beverages. Ring order and beverages through POS system. Print orders for kitchen, communicate with kitchen team and restaurant managers about staffed event order. Breakdown and clean up event- including dishes, sweeping/mopping, labeling and repacking food items. Maintain inventory of paper goods. Be attentive to all guest needs. Scheduling Catering Coordinator will communicate catering schedule concerns and availability to Catering Manager in appropriate time, 2 weeks prior to date for any requests out. Shifts will be scheduled a week in advance when applicable with the understanding that orders come through up to 12 hours before event time so adjustments will be made to hours accordingly. Available Tuesday with Sunday, 9a-9p with the understanding that hours will reflect business trends, resulting in early starts, late starts, or occasional days off during the work week. Available to work at all Taco Buddha locations. Tardiness and Absence - Each employee must arrive ready for work as scheduled. If you cannot report for your scheduled shift, you must give your supervisor at least three hours notice. Consistent tardiness or absences will lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination. All shifts are eligible to be covered by other employees trained in the role or traded as needed. Compensation During Catering Coordinator’s (CC) training period (~2 weeks unless additional time required), $14 will be the hourly rate. Following a two-week review, should CC be ready to assistant in events as a solo catering leader, the hourly pay rate will increase to $15 p/h for Catering Coordinator shifts. Delivery rates ($15) will be paid in full to CC for all events participated in at the end of the corresponding pay period, both during the training and solo time periods. Delivery and Set Up Rates ($50) will be paid in full to CC for all events participated in at the end of the corresponding pay period, both during the training and solo time periods. CC will maintain $20 p/h catering pay during all staffed events to include Weddings, Bendecido Room Rentals, and additional staffed event. CC will not be eligible for store’s tip pool during shifts but will be eligible for 50% of delivery order tips and a portion of staffed event tips based on hours worked alongside other catering staff members. During non-staffed events, CC will clock in under “Catering Driver” job code to receive appropriate hourly rate. During staffed events, CC will clock in under the “Catering Event” job code and to be paid in full for all events participated in at the end of the corresponding pay period. Should CC receive a cash tip during any catering event, this tip will be split evenly amongst all parties participating in event execution.
