Experience a workplace where safety, efficiency, and meaningful personal connections define every day, enriching both our teammates and the communities we serve.Nucor supports its teammates with top-tier benefits like Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability Insurance, 401K and Roth accounts, Profit sharing, Pay-for-performance bonuses, Paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement, Stock program, Scholarships and more.Basic Job Functions:Develop and support engineering projects including layouts, equipment specifications, timelines, RFQs, cost estimates, and vendor coordination.Review, compare, and negotiate contractor and vendor proposals.Create and update plant equipment, process flow, and facility layout drawings.Work with plant operations teams to troubleshoot issues, interpret drawings, and support root cause analysis.Analyze production data to define opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.Support integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automation systems (PLC, HMI, robotics, controls).Participate in commissioning new equipment including validation, startup, documentation, and training.Promote and demonstrate strong safety culture in all activities.Other duties as assigned.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Automation, or related Engineering field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Willingness to learn new equipment and technology.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong ownership, follow-through, and accountability.Commitment to Nucor's core values of Safety, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with industrial automation systems (PLC, HMI, robotics, SCADA, MES).Exposure to equipment installation, integration, or manufacturing operations.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.Experience coordinating with external suppliers, integrators, and contractors.Experience with process mapping or capacity analysis.Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace.
