Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: TELE Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 18 months MS experience License: Georgia or compact license required Certifications: NIHSS required, BLS required Must-Have: IV insertion, PICC lines, tele interpretation Description: The position requires 18 months of medical-surgical experience. Candidates must have a Georgia or compact nursing license in hand. NIHSS certification is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. IV insertion and PICC line skills are necessary. Experience with tele interpretation is essential. Procedures performed on the unit include lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, NGT feeding, and NFT insertion. Top ten diagnoses/procedures include CHF, COPD, DM, sepsis, pneumonia, gastrointestinal bleeding, altered mental status, hypertension, renal failure, and heart failure.
