About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Counsel for its Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the health system and serving as the primary legal advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors. This role demands an exceptional leader with a minimum of 15-20 years' experience in healthcare law, including a background in a law firm, the public sector, and an executive in-house role within a healthcare organization. The Chief Counsel will be expected to provide strategic legal guidance, exercise sound judgment in complex legal and business issues, and ensure that the legal and business objectives are in alignment. Strong business acumen is essential, as the role requires the ability to understand and advise on operational, financial, and strategic matters to support the sustainable growth of the organization. Candidates for the Chief Counsel position should have a proven track record of leadership and management, with a preference for those who have held senior legal positions in highly regarded academic medical centers or large healthcare systems. The role is pivotal in the transformation and growth agenda of the health system, and the ideal candidate will be adept at balancing legal risk with business objectives, particularly in the competitive healthcare landscape. The Chief Counsel will be a key partner to the senior leadership team, providing counsel that enables informed decision-making and supports the mission of the health system in providing outstanding patient care and advancing biomedical research.
