Job Description
TITLE
Certified Nurse Assistant - Per Diem

SCHEDULE
All contracts must run through the holiday season and complete a full-day orientation on a Tuesday or Thursday.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 27 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours required monthly, which must include 2 weekend shifts.

REQUIREMENTS
- New York State Nursing Assistant Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One (1) year of previous long-term care (LTC) experience

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) in accordance with the care plan, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting needs.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents, promptly responding to call lights and alarms, and following protocols for safety and fall prevention.
- Support residents' nutritional needs by assisting with meal delivery, preparation, and feeding as necessary, while respecting their preferences.
- Facilitate resident rehabilitation needs by assisting with exercises, ambulation, and proper alignment during transfers.
- Report changes in residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status to the supervising nurse in a timely manner.
- Adhere to protocols regarding potential exposure to blood borne pathogens during care tasks.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
