Job SummaryClean and maintain University assets per the standard set forth by the Manager of Custodial Operations. This position is full-time, 12-months, reporting to the Manager of Custodial Operations.There are three full-time openings available as follows:Saturday through Wednesday, First Shift – the hours are from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Monday through Friday, First Shift – the hours are from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Monday through Friday, Second Shift – the hours are from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour (plus $.75 cents shift differential for second shift)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDisposal of trashMaintain cleanliness of assigned areasSweep, mop, and buff floorsMaintain aesthetic appearance of entrance to buildingMake sure custodial closet is fully stocked and organizedStrip and wax floors as neededReport facility issues to Facility Maintenance OfficePrep resident halls for each semesterOther duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to read, write and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to interact with customers (students, faculty, administration), co-workers and supervisors in a positive and helpful mannerDemonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasksEnglish proficiency is requiredEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma with 1 year direct and 2 years indirect experiencePrior floor care experiencePhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsValid state driver's licenseMust be in sound physical conditionStockroom or warehouseHigh noise environmentHigh dust, dirt, and grease environmentRequires extensive safety trainingExposure to moving machineryAlternative work schedule may be requiredExposure to chemicalsRequires protective devicesOccasional lifting 25-50 lbs.Typically standing or walkingTypically bending, crouching, stoopingSpecial Message to ApplicantsSelected applicants will be responsible for providing the University with clearances appropriate to the position. These clearances include the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check.
