Talk with customers about music, moods, and candles while helping people find a scent that fits their vibe.
Mbodi is looking for a friendly, reliable person to represent the brand at markets and festivals around the Austin area from October through December . You’ll talk with customers, share the stories behind our candles, and help create the scent + sound experience that makes Mbodi different.
$17/hr + sales bonuses + 100% of tips
Typical day:
- Smaller markets: $80-$130+
- Larger festivals: $125-$200+
- Plus tips
Based on past events, not guaranteed.
Most events are on Saturday or Sunday , with some Friday events. You can accept or decline individual events based on your availability.
What You'll Do
- Talk with customers about music, moods, scents, and what they're feeling
- Help customers find candles that fit their vibe
- Share the story and experience behind Mbodi
- Let customers explore our scent + sound experience
- Run the Square register and process payments
- Set up and break down the booth
- Keep the booth organized, stocked, and welcoming
- Work independently at assigned markets and festivals
What We're Looking For
You don't need sales or candle experience. We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly and comfortable talking to strangers
- Outgoing and naturally conversational
- Reliable and dependable
- Comfortable working independently
- Good at making people feel welcome
- Interested in music, moods, or creative products
- Comfortable using a phone or tablet for payments
- Able to lift around 45 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors for several hours in changing weather
- Available for weekend events from October through December
- Has reliable transportation to assigned events
Training
You'll receive paid hands-on training at a real Mbodi market . You'll learn the products, booth setup, Square, customer experience, and how to tell the story behind the candles.
No prior candle or sales experience is required.
