Job Description
Title
Oncology Outpatient Infusion RN

Schedule
Possible shifts: 7:45-16:15, 8:00-16:30, 8:30-17:00, 9:00-17:30, 9:30-18:00
Weekends: Not required
Call: Not required

Assignment Details
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hrs/week

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Prior oncology/infusion outpatient experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, Oncology certification (ONCC or ONS chemo certification)
- Charting system: Epic required
- Key clinical skills:
- Administration & monitoring of chemotherapy (IV/continuous/oral)
- Infusion pump experience (Alaris, CADD)
- Port/central line care and blood product administration
- Recognition/management of oncology emergencies (anaphylaxis, extravasation, tumor lysis, neutropenic sepsis)
- Symptom management (nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, etc.)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and manage infusions in an outpatient setting.
- Monitor patients during infusion treatments and implement appropriate interventions as needed.
- Provide care and management of central lines and ports.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management.
- Recognize and respond to oncology emergencies effectively.

Compliance / Notes
- 2 references covering 1 year of work within the last 3 years required.
- Pre-start modules average ~16 hours (over 20 hrs requires approval); must be completed and documented before starting.
- Travelers expected to float across facilities within the state; refusal may result in termination and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
- Include all requested time off at the time of submittal.
