Job Description
TITLE
Nursing Assistant - Nursing

SCHEDULE
Full-Time, 3x12 hour shifts (Days/Nights rotation required); Every other weekend and holidays required.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 27 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

REQUIREMENTS
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent education; Post Secondary Education in Health or Human Services preferred
- 1-2 years of customer service or health-related experience

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.
- Measure and record vital signs and assist with activities of daily living as outlined in the plan of care.
- Assist in nutritional needs by delivering meals, setting up trays, assisting with feeding, and distributing snacks while respecting patient choices.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort by turning and positioning patients, providing skin care, and responding promptly to call lights and alarms.
- Report changes in patient physical and emotional status to the nursing staff and participate in shift communication.
- Support rehabilitation efforts by assisting with range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, and correct body alignment.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is anticipated; required tasks may involve contact with blood or body fluids.
