Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel.

• Proficiency in TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel.

• Ability to pass a MIG/TIG weld test demonstrating strong technical welding skills.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.

• Ability to pass a basic math test, including simple addition and subtraction with decimals and reading measurements on a ruler in inches.

• Experience with fabrication work, including working in sheet metal and tubular welding environments.

• Ability to use grinding tools and related equipment to finish and clean welds.

• Comfort working in multiple welding positions such as flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.

• Strong focus on weld quality, inspection, and adherence to specifications.

• Capability to work approximately 50 hours per week to meet production requirements.

• Possession of a personal welding helmet and welding gloves.

Work Environment

• The role is based in a large, approximately 256,000-square-foot warehouse that is very clean, organized, and not excessively loud.

• Safety is the top priority, with well-structured processes and equipment, including snorkel systems in each welding booth to vacuum welding debris and support air quality.

• Welders are assigned their own booth, promoting focus and efficiency. All required PPE is provided except for a welding helmet and gloves, which employees must bring.

• The facility operates multiple shifts, including a first shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with a shift differential for second shift work.

• The environment supports high-volume production of automotive components while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and professional standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
