We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a private equity firm on a Contract basis in New York, New York. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing critical close activities, and strengthening day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate brings strong NetSuite experience along with a hands-on approach to general ledger management and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:• Lead month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of general ledger data.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances or unusual balances.
• Complete bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across multiple accounts.
• Support accounting operations within NetSuite, including transaction review and financial data maintenance.
• Assist the team with accounting priorities tied to upcoming NetSuite go-live deadlines.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accuracy, documentation, and consistency across accounting processes.• Proven experience working as a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger accounting, and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Practical proficiency with NetSuite is required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a contract engagement.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
